Summary :
After two years of covid-19 pandemic, many University of Malaya students are now accustomed to online learning, and this became an issue after the reopening of the campus. This concern is even more prevalent for person with disabilities (PWDS) students because the technological comfort of online learning was proven to be favourable to their circumstances. However, this dependence on online learning has left many students, especially the PWDS, socially disconnected from the rest of the UM community. In order to drive the university’s environment towards inclusion, PWDS students must be able to form connections and socialise with those outside of the PWDS community. Our project was a platform to facilitate this connection as well as to give the PWDS students a comfortable setting to share their concerns and stories as students at University of Malaya.
Objective :
1. To look into how the covid-19 pandemic has affected the person with disabilities (PWDS) students in UM;
2. To help the person with disabilities (PWDS) students gain support and acceptance from the um community in facing their everyday difficulties by acting as a medium with the CCDE;
3. To provide social activities that contribute to the acceptance and socialisation of our fellow students while also providing a platform for them to voice grievances;
4. To increase the empowerment of persons with disabilities (PWDS) students to speak up for themselves and seek help when necessary by gaining their trust through relationships built.
