Summary :

Our project's purpose is to give an introduction to international students in Malaysian Universities about Malaysian English (Manglish). The project is done through an online class and is conducted in four different sections; self-introduction, in-class scenarios, ordering food and asking and giving directions. Extra tips were also given to the students to assist them in speaking and understanding their fellow Malaysian classmates. Moreover, the slides, reference videos and class videos were also given to the students for future reference. A Kahoot quiz was also organized in order to test their understanding on the lessons taught.

Objective :

1. To find out more about the communication needs of international students in terms of feeling connected to the local community.

2. To help the international students to improve their speaking skills with the local community in order to make them feel more comfortable and not marginalized.

3. To ensure that the international students gain their confidence to communicate and be accepted in the local community.
